Thank goodness I had a much better run today. I got up bright and early and met my co-marathon trainers for a 6 mile run downtown at 6:15 this a.m. This was my first time running with them so I was a little nervous. I was hoping I could keep up!! Thankfully I was able to. We kept a comfortable pace and had a great run. I will have to get used to new running buddies, though. I've only run consistently with two other people and both of them knew my style - 1) I don't typically talk while I run; I listen to my music and zone out. Well, these guys like to talk...after mile 2 I was able to give a little bit to the conversation. 2) I like to run on the left side. I have no clue why. Good news here, one of them likes the right and the other said he likes to be in the front of the pack...but was okay with the middle. :) 3) I take 1-2 miles to warm up and do a slow, steady run when I'm doing anything over 3-4 miles. They do too! I am excited. It really helps to have other people to train with. Plus Phil liked it that I'd already run, had coffee with Katie, and was back home before 9:00!
Though I feel great from my run, I am really exhausted. We went to bed too late and then Phil woke up around 4:30 this morning and neither of us could sleep. So I'm hoping Jake decides to take a nice, long nap this afternoon so I can relax! (crossing fingers).
I have a new recipe in the oven right now...it will be done in 12 minutes! I can't wait try it. I'll post it later if we like it. It sure looks/smells tasty!
Happy weekend!
