As I mentioned before, Phil and I were leaving Friday morning so we could get to Kiawah before the crowd. We got there mid afternoon Friday and went straight to packet pick up. I was very excited to get my bib with my name on it so people who didn't even know me could yell "Go, Heather" when I needed it the most! :)
I had to make one small purchase at the expo. I know Justin and Len will make fun of me, but I am so excited to replace my 13.1 sticker!! :)
We didn't spend too long there because we were anxious to check in to our condo, find something to eat, and get back to relax. We loved our cute condo! The best part - it was just a 2 minute walk from the starting line! We picked a good one.
I got my stuff ready for the morning and got ready to go to bed at 10:00. We had several texts/calls so really didn't end up falling asleep until 11:00, but we both slept well.
I have so much to say about race day so I'm going to make that a separate post.
One last thing before I go. After we had a good late lunch after the marathon, we were driving around the Island and saw a place with a gym inside. Phil said he was going to drop me off so I could run a little bit on the treadmill. I could barely even muster a laugh. He thinks he's so funny. :)
The condo looks so cute! I can't wait for the race recap!
ReplyDeleteThat condo is awesome! I wouldn't ever want to leave. Actually, maybe I'll look into moving into it. I mean a water view, gorgeous floors, quaint furniture - love it!!
ReplyDeleteNice condo! It's great to have a comfy spot to relax before the big race.
ReplyDeleteMy husband thinks he's funnier than he is, too. LOL. Glad to hear you had a good race, and looking forward to reading more details!
